Lesson 09 – Best arbitrage software – required features

We now experience quite massive appearance of arbitrage services, trading-related services, surebet-seeking sites and arbitrage industry related initiatives.
Partially this is because arbitrage trading becomes more and more popular, quite big group of people start to be aware of such possibility of earning decent amount of money. This trend also produces in time experienced arbers, who may consecutively think of creating their own surebet-software and produce income selling subscription/access to arbitrages.
That is why we right now see many releases of alerting services and we will certainly witness more of this trend in the near future.
In this article I would like to focus on listing few most important features and characteristics good arbitrage software should be equipped with, without relating to existing services.

1. Surebets finding algorithm – the Detector

This is certainly most important, challenging and demanding part of every successful arbitrage machine.
Analyzing odds originating from bookmakers sites/xml-s, its task is to combine them together and list all surebet opportunities. The more it can find out from the same data, the better the detector.

2. Rapid odds refreshing

How you can get odds from bookmakers? In general you have two major options, first being making use of accessible xml-feeds provided by some bookmakers, second being manually scrapping odds directly from the website.
First option is much easier, however second ensures rapid odds refreshing and presence of all available odds. In xml-files many bookmakers do not show all odds. Moreover xml-files are often not updated frequently, like every 15, 30 minutes, which for arbitrage player is not acceptable. For rapid data analysis and consecutive prompt showing arbitrages to clients you need also good hardware support and quick internet connection, which as your business grows is quite expensive, but required.

3. Intuitive client/website

Provided you already have nice detector and you generate many arbitrages originating from odds you gathered from bookmaker`s websites you need to show them in user-friendly way to your clients. Generally you again have two options. Either you construct software, which will be available to download at your website and where arbitrages will be displayed or you may like to show surebets directly on your website. No of these options is better, however each of these have different advantages and disadvantages.
On the one hand software can be equipped with sophisticated alerting system, personalization options and other factors, which will make life easier when arbing. On the other hand some users will not very gladly download anything to their computers and will prefer website-based service. No matter the solution you will choose you need to combine your service with fully automated surebet-calculator, so that your client can rapidly calculate stakes before placing bets. Additionally you may like to construct dedicated browser, so to speed up navigation to appropriate bookies, when placing arbitrage. This solution however requires bookmaker’s account password sharing inside the software. Even though you can apply password encryption technology, which is fully secure for your clients they might be a little bit worried and decide not to use it.

4. Supporting many decent bookmakers

General rule

Quality over quantity

While introducing new bookmaker to your software you need to be totally sure, it is done perfectly – meaning all the odds are present, odds gathering time is low and optimized, and there are no silly mistakes like tennis game is recognized as football match. It is also your interest to include in your software only reliable, trustful bookmakers and avoid at all cost deposit-only bookies. There are many services nowadays, who support hundreds of bookmakers, most of which will never pay back any money to their clients. It is generally your client responsibility to find out, whether the bookie where he is going to open account is trustful or not, however in order to keep the guy alive you should help him to know it. All in all try to support as many reliable bookies as possible.

5. Defining events

Here you will encounter most arduous work of whole project. You will need to tell your software that Manchester United from Bookmaker 1 is exactly the same team as M. Utd from Bookmaker 2, Manchester. U from bookie 3, Man United from bookie 4 and at the same time it is not the same team as Manchester. C, Manchester City, Man City… and you need to repeat this job for every team and every bookmaker so to avoid mistakes and false surebets inside the software.

6. Prize/promotions

And last but not least – prize. Once you developed your software you need to establish prize for it. It certainly needs to be competitive, because in the times your machine is new at the market, not many people will risk much money to test it, having other one. Good option is to share it for free while in beta-phase or to share it for free for limited time, once completed. In this way you gain market, reputation and clients for the future.

Having written all these information’s I would like to assure you, that while developing our software we have had in mind all five of these suggestions, so we really hope you will be satisfied with our product.

Lesson 16 – Bonus scalping – how to secure 100% of bonus for sure?

Lets assume you have received a 100% bonus up to 100 EUR at Unibet. Provided you have deposited 100 EUR you have been granted additional 100 EUR (bonus) and right now your bankroll is 200 EUR.

Before withdrawal, you need to check BWC (bonus wagering conditions). Lets again assume that you need to wager deposit + bonus amount (200 EUR) 3 times at minimal odds of 1.50.

If you are Surebet Monitor client you can use “Bonus scalping” mode, with appropriate parameters (check example below).

Surebet Monitor Bonus Scalping
Surebet Monitor Bonus Scalping

What you need to do is to find an arbitrage event involving Unibet. Bear in mind that odds originating from Unibet should be higher than 1.50.

Provided you found even 0% arbitrage between Pinnacle Sports and Unibet with odds for NHL game between Boston Bruins and NY Rangers:

Unibet @ Boston Bruins 3.00 (Moneyline)
Pinnacle @ New York Rangers 1.50 (Moneyline)

and you decide to play va-banque at Unibet placing 200 EUR bet. Now you need to counter it with 400 EUR at pinnacle. What happens next?

Scenario 1

Around 67% probability – New York Rangers win the game and you win 200 EUR at Pinnacle Sports, at the same time losing 200 EUR at Unibet. You effectively transfer your cash from Unibet to Pinnacle Sports, thus gaining ability of withdrawing it. Your bonus is secured!

Scenario 2

Around 33% probability – Boston Bruins win the game. You lose 400 EUR at Pinnacle Sports and at the same time you win your Unibet wager and win 400 EUR. Your effective BWC drops to two times at 1,50 odds, as you have already placed 200 EUR bet. All you need to do is to place 400 EUR more to free your bonus.

Let’s assume you again notice arbitrage opportunity on NBA game between LA Lakers and Chicago Bulls valued 0% as presented below:

Unibet @ LA Lakers 1,50 Moneyline
Pinnacle@ Chicago Bulls 3,00 Moneyline

All you need to do is to place 400 EUR bet at Unibet at 1,50 odds (LA Lakers to win) and counter it at Pinnacle with 200 EUR (Chicago Bulls to win) at 3,00 odds.

Scenario 1

Around 67% chances – LA Lakers win the game. You win 200 EUR at Unibet, losing 200 EUR at Pinnacle Sports. You have met BWC and you can now withdraw your money from Unibet. Your 100 euro bonus is secured!

Scenario 2

Around 33% chances – Chicago Bulls win the game. You lose 400 EUR at Unibet, at the same time winning 400 EUR at Pinnacle Sports. You effectively transfer your cash from Unibet to Pinnacle Sports, thus gaining ability of withdrawing it. Your bonus is secured!

Record Keeping – Best practices to keep track of your bets (part 1)

Sports betting is exciting. A goal in the last minute can make you win or lose. Arbitrage betting is also exciting, but in a very different way. Rush occurs during the detection and placing of bets rather than while waiting for the event outcome. Anyway, we love betting and we are proud of our ability to make profit. How much profit and how do we achieve it? Could we do it better? As in any business (professional bettors and surebettors are businessmen), we need good information to tell.

Most recreational bettors lose money. In fact, they lose a lot of money. They bet following their heart. They try to recover by betting more money in an impulsive way. And someday they hit a correct score bet with odds greater than 10 and they celebrate and forget previous losses. In fact, if you ask them how they are doing they don’t even know if they win or lose in the long term (although according to several analysts, between 90% and 98% sports bettors are losers). If they had detailed information would they continue betting? (Maybe yes…)

But professional bettors – those who take betting as an investment or a job – they must know if they win. And how much. And how, when and where. Assuming you are in this group, can you tell…

  • How much did you bet?
  • How much did you win?
  • How many bets?
  • Your average and maximum stake?
  • Your average and maximum win? And loss?
  • How much did you invest and cash out?
  • Your ROI and yield?
  • Your average arbitrage? Your maximum arbitrage?
  • Your total balance? Your balance on each bookmaker?
  • Your stake, return, profit or loss per bookmaker?
  • The bonuses you received? The fees you paid?
  • Which sports you bet on? Which markets? Which competitions or countries?
  • Which sport is most profitable? And which market, competition or bookmaker?
  • How many open bets do you have? Where are they?

You should.

And all these questions could be combined, and asked for a specific period of time – last week, last month, year to date, since the beginnings of time.

To answer these and many other questions we need to keep records.

Record keeping – tools

Record keeping can be done using different tools.

  • No record keeping. You can always use the historical data bookmakers provide. This is a good option only if you use a few bookmakers, but it’s not useful for arbitrage bettors who use 20, 30 or more bookmakers.

  • Pen and paper. Maybe it’s better than nothing, but not so much. You can keep track of all your bets on paper, but it will be almost unusable for reports and statistical information.

  • Electronic documents (word processors). While this is much better than using only pen and paper, analytical possibilities are still very limited. At least, searching for specific bets will be easier and you could transfer this information to other formats later with some work.

  • Electronic spreadsheets. Now you are taking it seriously. Spreadsheets are a good tool to keep your bet record. Of course, you need a well-designed record to make it easier entering information, minimise errors and enable analysis. We’ll talk about this in a moment.

  • Applications and databases. This is the top-stage. Applications have all the advantages of spreadsheets and can also provide a lot more possibilities, depending on their quality.

Record keeping – what to record

It would be nice to have enough information to answer all those previous questions and more. But it is also very probable that the more information you record, the more effort it will take. You need to balance the effort and the benefits. So, what to record?

The information you need to perform analysis and answer the initial questions include, for each bet:

  • Bookmaker
  • Date and time
  • Stake and currency
  • Odds
  • Return and profit/loss
  • Sport, country and competition
  • Market

And you also need other information, like money transfers, just to mention one.

Record keeping – excel approach (introduction)

Let’s design an Excel sure bet tracker!

First of all, we must define the main entities we will use when recording bets, because it’s not only about bets. We suggest defining these main entities: bookmakers, sports, markets, countries, currencies, transaction types and bet types. Of course, you do not need a detailed entity definition for each one, but it’s good to treat them as entities with a key (or code) and the remaining information, and use references to each one on your bets. That’s a basic database design best-practice that will minimise errors and make maintenance easier.

What about bets? Besides these entities (master records) we must define bets (transactional records). We suggest defining bets and transactions so that we can also track deposits, bonuses, fees, etc. And if we want to track surebets, we must record information about which bets belong to each surebet.

What should we include for each entity? We can include as much or as little as we like. In our next article we will provide a simple but complete Excel design that will allow us to analyse:

  • Money invested and cashed out
  • Bonuses received
  • Number of bets
  • Total stake, return and profit
  • Open bets (stake)
  • Average and biggest bet stake, return and profit
  • Average and biggest profit per bet, day, week, month or year
  • ROI, Yield
  • Balances at each bookmakers and wallets
  • Number of bets, stake, return and profit per bookmaker
  • Bonuses, fees, adjustments, transfers, per bookmaker
  • Number of open bets and stakes per bookmaker
  • Log of transactions and bets
  • Graphs
  • Profit analysis by sport and market
  • Many more

Record Keeping – Best practices to keep track of your bets (part 2)

$
0
0

In our previous article – Record keeping – Best practices to keep track of your bets (part 1) – we talked about the importance of keeping records to get valuable information about your betting activity. Every successful bettor should keep track of his bets. We had also started designing an excel spreadsheet to do this task, and decided to record the following information:

  • Bet types
  • Transaction type
  • Currencies
  • Bookmakers
  • Sports
  • Markets
  • Countries
  • Bets
  • Transactions

Let’s complete our sure bet tracker design.

Bet types

Bet types represent the type of each bet. We should use a bet type attribute if we want to classify our bets. We could, for instance, define types like “single bet”, “parlay bet”, “surebet”, “value bet”, etc. The Bet type entity should have a code, a name and an optional description.

Transaction types

Transaction types represent the type of each transaction. We should use transactions to record money transactions (besides bets) and transaction types will allow to classify and analyse transactions. These types represent investments, withdrawals, transfers, bonuses, fees and anything you’d like to consider. As bet types, you should keep a code, a name and an optional description.

Currencies

The Currencies entity will hold all the currencies we use (on wallets, bank accounts or bookmakers). Besides the currency code, name and description, we will need the current exchange rate. Each time we enter a bet or transaction, the exchange rate should be taken from here. In order to calculate global indicators, we should decide which currency will be our main currency. This one should have an exchange rate equal to 1, and all other currencies should include the exchange rate according to the main currency.

Bookmakers

Bookmakers are one of our main entities. Bookmakers’ information could include:

  • Name
  • Web address
  • Username
  • Password (it’s not a good idea to write down passwords, but maybe a password hint)
  • Currency (the code that links to the currency entity)
  • Notes

Please note we do not include a “current balance” attribute because we will have it automatically calculated from bets and transactions.

We could also use this entity to keep other accounts (ewallets, bank accounts). This will make it easier to enter transactions and calculate our overall balance. If we keep ewallets here, the Bookmakers entity could have an attribute to tell the type of account – such as B for Books and W for Wallets and bank accounts.

Sports

Sports are useful to analyse our profit with more detail. As most of the entities we are defining, you should have a sport code, a name and an optional description. We should have the sports we use most (football, baseball, hockey, tennis, american football and other). We could also have a record called “other sports” to use when we place a bet in a sport we don’t need to track.

Markets

As Sports, markets are also useful to analyse our profit with more detail. We should have the markets we use most (1X2, HA, AH, OU, etc.). We could also have a record called “other markets” to use when we place a real rare bet in a market we don’t need to track.

Countries

We could use this entity to identify the country where the event took place. For the sake of simplicity, we could also keep continents or even “World” in this entity, to enable continental or international competitions. For example, a bet in a World Cup match should include the “World” country, and a bet on the Champions League should include “Europe” country.

Transactions

All the previous entities (bet types, transaction types, currencies, bookmakers, sports, markets and countries) are not transactional records. We call them master records. Once we have recorded this information, it does not change a lot. Of course, as we keep betting we will need to add countries, sports, bookmakers. We can also change information (any field except codes), for instance, we would like to update exchange rates, or add notes to bookmakers. We can even decide to add new bet types or transaction types.

We will use transactions to increase or decrease balance or to move money between accounts. Transactions need to include:

  • Transaction number
  • Transaction type (the code that links to the transaction types entity)
  • Date
  • From (the code that represents an account – bookmaker or wallet)
  • To (the code that represents an account – bookmaker or wallet)
  • Amount

Transfers need two accounts. That’s why we included from and to. Other transactions only need one account. We should use “from” (because money leaves from the account) if money decreases (i.e. a fee, a withdrawal) and use “to” (because money arrives to the account) if money increases (i.e. a bonus, an investment). Experience shows that most transactions will be transfers between wallets and bookmakers (when you deposit into a bookmaker from your ewallet or when you withdraw from your bookmaker to your ewallet, these are in fact transfers).

We did not include the currency because currencies are part of the account. If you deposit on your Pinnacle account, the currency will be the one indicated in the Pinnacle record (bookmakers entity). In case you are transferring money, the amount is expressed in the “from” account currency. However, we could also add more columns to make this clearer. We could have two amounts (from and two) that would be expressed in each account’s currency, and we could also have two more columns to express these amounts in the main currency.

Bets

Finally!

Bets can include lots of information. We could start with these fields:

  • Bet number
  • Bet type (the code that links to the bet types entity)
  • Date (and time)
  • Event
  • Event date (and time)
  • Book (the code that links to the bookmakers entity)
  • Stake (expressed on the bookmaker currency)
  • Odds
  • Return (expressed on the bookmaker currency)
  • Sport (the code that links to the sports entity)
  • Country (the code that links to the countries entity)
  • Market (the code that links to the markets  entity)
  • Outcome (a description of what you bet, i.e. over, under, home, away, etc.)
  • Spread (to use in handicap or totals markets, to represent the handicap or total value)
  • Notes

Notes:

This is our main entity and this is just basic information. If we want to keep surebets, we need to add more data, such as a surebet field where we will enter a number; all bets with the same surebet number should form part of the same surebet. If we want to keep details about parlays, this structure is not the best; parlays have many bet lines, with different sports, markets and odds, but only one stake. We think it is not necessary to make this design too much complex to have this information, but that depends on how important are parlays on your betting activity. If you want to keep details of your parlays, you need to represent bets as two entities (bets and betlines; the date, bookmaker, stake and return are part of the bet and the odds, sport, market, etc. are part of the betlines).

As with transactions, amounts are expressed on the bookmaker’s currency. We might want to include the amounts expressed on the main currency, so we would need to add another stake and result columns.

Depending on you specific needs, you may want to include other relevant information, as periods (e.g. 1st half, 2nd set, full time) or moment of bet (prematch, in-play). You could also use a list of predefined outcomes (instead of free text). All this requires more fields on each bet, and more entities (periods, outcomes and moments). It can turn your excel too complex and here is when you might start thinking of an application.

Register an OddStorm account and send an e-mail to support@oddstorm.com with SBMON code to get 3 days extra to your monthly paid subscription.

OddStorm was established in 2007 and provides high quality cross-market soccer surebets, middles and Polish middles. Since its launch they have been enhancing their service, adding bookmakers, markets and filters, and improving parsing algorithms and arbitrage detection systems. Currently OddStorm offers pre-match and in-play football arbitrage on their web site, having also developed a Windows application exclusively for live arbing (OddStorm InPlay application).

Main features

OddStorm collects odds on their own, without using third party providers. Their event matching system guarantees displaying almost all soccer tournaments, leagues and events matched against each bookmaker. They focus on football so that they can cover every major and minor league, with a dedicated team monitoring and working on the completeness of the coverage. Anyway, they have announced they will eventually add other sports in the future. They cover the following markets:

  • 1X2
  • 1X2 Corners
  • Double Chance
  • Over/Under
  • Over/Under Home
  • Over/Under Away
  • Over/Under Corners
  • Over/Under Home Corners
  • OverUnder Away Corners
  • GG/NG
  • Odd/Even
  • Odd/Even Corners
  • Odd/Even Home
  • Odd/Even Away
  • CorrectScore (as UnderGoals)
  • AH (including DNB)
  • AH Corners

They also cover a high number of cross-market soccer surebets, middles and Polish middles. They currently offer 51 bookmakers for future events and 40 bookmakers for in-play arbitrage. Regarding periods, they cover 1st half, 2nd half, halftime and fulltime for in-play arbitrage. They only cover fulltime for prematch.

The refresh rate is only 1 second on the windows InPlay application. On their web site the refresh rate is 3 seconds for in-play and 15 seconds for prematch, but can be set to greater values according to each user’s preferences.

Special features

Besides arbitrage detection, OddStorm also offers odd comparison and odd history. Users can see the history of every odd, since first detected at OddStorm and the time of each change. Users can also compare odds from different bookmakers, by clicking on the event and selecting the market of choice.

OddStorm claims to prevent obvious error from being displayed, having many rules which determine these situations.

Users can set an alarm that will sound when the arbitrage percentage is higher than a predefined value.

OddStorm (the InPlay application in particular) has a huge speed regarding parsing and arbitrage generation and delivery. They scan asians and Pinnacle every 15 seconds and do not miss to catch a market trend which may produce an arbitrage. InPlay application scans every bookmaker in 1-3 second interval. These odds changes can be seen in odd history (as shown in the picture).

Odds history

Filters

Users can specify the minimum and maximum arb percentage. The minimum allowed arbitrage can be chosen from the following: -1%, 0%, 0.5%, 1%, 2%, 3%, 4% and 5%. The negative arbitrage can be used to take advantage of bonuses and rapidly fulfilling rollover requirements. The maximum allowed arbitrage can be chosen from: 0%, 1%, 2%, 3%, 5%, 7%, 10% and 100%. These limits allow to prevent palp errors. On the InPlay application limits are the same, but users can write any value (instead of choosing from the list), for example, a minimum of 1.5% and a maximum of 300%

Middles and Polish middles have a probability value. The higher this value, the better (for middles) and the worst (for Polish middles). Users can set the minimum probability (between 4 and 10) for Middles and the maximum probability (between 2 and 3.5) for Polish middles.

OddStorm can consider all available events or just the ones that will be played in 1, 2, 7 or 30 days. As arbers we don’t want to keep our money stuck on a bet for a long time so we could chose to display only events for the next 2 days.

In the arbitrage window, users can dismiss the information they no longer want to see by filtering items, including specific odds, a specific match or a whole league. Dismissed information can be shown again by removing the applied filters.

The Windows InPlay application has more filter possibilities, including the following:

  • Filter events for a small period of time (1, 2 or 5 minutes).
  • InPlay temporary filter

  • Arbitrage outcome count (2, 3 or 4 legs)
  • Events at half time break
  • Events where current score is draw
  • Minutes till half time break or end of match are less than given minutes
  • Odd price is lower than a given value

InPlay filters

Customisation

Users can customise bookmakers to be used for pre-match arbitrage and in-play arbitrage. Bookmakers can be optional or mandatory. For example, if you have most of your bankroll on a specific bookmaker, you can decide to force this bookie on all arbs displayed (set it as mandatory) and leave other bookies as optional. The latest version of the InPlay application has instant bookmaker filtering and allows predefining bookmaker filter sets.

InPlay books

Users can also set their time zone and chose among the following languages: English, Bulgarian, Czech, Swedish and Russian.

Next improvements

The Windows InPlay application will introduce interesting features in next versions. OddStorm is working on market customisation for each bookmaker and on multi-tab arbitrage windows to allow different rules and filters on each tab. They are also working on a major upgrade that will allow autologin and navigating to specific betting slips.

Calculator

Every surebet, middle or Polish middle can be calculated on the built in calculator. Users must specify the stake for one of the bet legs (outcomes) and OddStorm will calculate other stakes, the arbitrage percentage, return on each bet and profit (or loss).

The calculator allows users to change the odds, but does not support different currencies or commissions. Non subscribers are limited to 100 max stake

Support

Customer support can be contacted by email and they provide a very quick response. The site also provides a live chat area for paying subscribers, visible to all visitors. Skype support is also available, and OddStorm participate in Arbusers forum where they post information and answer users questions. In this forum they have a specific board with 10 threads at the time of our review. Although there is no user manual, they have posted several articles on their web site and Arbusers forum

Subscriptions plans

OddStorm offers 4 subscription plans.

  • Free subscription: it has 15 minutes delay and maximum arbitrage shown is 1.5%. Maximum probability for middles is 6 and minimum for Polish middles is 3.25. Live arbitrage is not included.

One of the most remarkable functions about RebelBetting is its Auto-login and Auto-surf feature, where the software will automatically log you in to the bookmaker, find the correct sport, league and market, and the participant and odds highlighted for faster access to the arbitrage. This requires telling RebelBetting you username and password on all bookmakers, something not everybody will be comfortable with.

The arbitrage window shows all arbs available based on current user settings. Each arbitrage is shown a row including the arb percentage, time until the event starts, the arb age, event participants and each outcome. In general arbs can be played using more than one bookmaker (with different arb percentage). To view all available arbs for the same event and market, you can click on the plus sign to expand the view. You will see other options (odds from different bookmakers for the same market). As you select different odds, arbitrage percentage are re-calculated and shown.

Arbitrage List

RebelBetting claims to detect and display possible dangerous situations. Below is a list of the warnings that can be seen in RebelBetting, and what they mean.

  • Risk for palpable error: A bookmaker can cancel your bet, claiming it was a palpable error (commonly known as a palp) This can occur when a bookmaker has made “an obvious mistake”, such as reversed the odds of a match or some other kind of accidental error made while quoting the odds.

  • Reversed participants: This notice is just to let you know that the order of the participants might not be the same on both bookmakers. This could happen for instance if a match is played at neutral ground and no team is the home team.

  • Mixed rules: Bookmakers in the arb have different rules regarding tennis matches.

  • Stake kidnapping: This warning identifies bookmakers that sometimes void part or all of your bet, after placed.

  • Same bookie: This notice is displayed when selecting an arb where two or more outcomes in an arb are on the same bookmaker.

  • Baseball notice: This is just to warn users that the bet is on a baseball match, to remind users to take care about starting pitchers and date and time of the game.

  • Not logged in to Betfair: If you are not logged to Betfair, Betfair odds will not be displayed.

Users can set several alarms that will sound or show on specific situations. RebelBetting can play two different sounds when arbs are above certain percentage, and another sound to notice middles. It can also display a balloon, flash window or bring it to front depending on the arb percentage.

Subscribers can download the free e-book that tells you everything you need to know about placing sure bets. Paid subscribers have access to a more detailed e-book.

Filters

RebelBetting manages three types of filters: arbitrage, bookmakers and market filters.

Arbitrage filters include:

  • Filter arbitrages between a minimum and maximum percentage.

  • Filter arbitrage based on its reliability (low, medium, high).

  • Filter arbitrage on exchanges based on volume. Users can set a minimum profit for Betfair, BetDaq and Smarkets.

  • Users can chose to show middles above a certain arbitrage percentage (which can be from -5% to 5%).

  • Users can hide certain arbs: with the same bookmaker on two legs, with three outcomes, starting too soon or too far, too old, and with or without lay odds.

  • Arbitrage with mixed rules on tennis can be shown or not.

Filters

Bookmakers filters let users choose which bookmakers are to be considered on arbs. Bookmakers can be optional or required.

Market filters let users choose which sports and markets will be considered.

These filters are established in the settings page, under the filter option. However a quick filter bar allowing to change the minimum arb and a required bookmaker is available on the main screen.

Customisation

Users can customise bookmakers to be used for pre-match arbitrage. As already stated, bookmakers can be optional or mandatory. For example, if you have most of your bankroll on a specific bookmaker, you can decide to force this bookie on all arbs displayed (set it as mandatory) and leave other bookies as optional.Bookmaker setup is much more than just choosing which bookies you want to use.

You can set your auto-login details (username and password), and chose the url to the web site (some bookies offer various options). You can also set the bookmaker currency, the preferred rounding, and tax (on stake or profit) and commission information.

Book setup

Users can also set their default currency and stake (for calculation) and odds format (decimal, fraction, US). Regional settings include choosing the timezone and the language, among the following: English, Swedish, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Deutsch, Greek, French, Japanese and Korean.

Calculator

Every surebet, can be calculated on the built in calculator. Users must specify the total stake or the stake for one of the bet legs (outcomes) and RebelBetting will calculate other stakes, the arbitrage percentage, return on each bet and profit (or loss).

The calculator allows users to change the odds, and supports different currencies, commissions and rounding. By default all outcomes will generate the same profit, but users can check which outcomes to maximise (this can be one of the outcomes or two in a three legs arb)

Calculator

Support

Customer support can be contacted by email and they provide a very quick response. RebelBetting participates in Arbusers forum where they post information and answer users questions. In this forum they have a specific board with 5 threads at the time of our review. There is also a user manual available online and a faq page with lots of useful information.

Subscriptions plans

RebelBetting offers only two subscription plans:

  • Free subscription: the maximum arbitrage shown is 0.6%. No cross market arbs or middles are displayed.

  • Paid subscription: this subscription includes all functionality. Its price is 129 EUR per month.

They offer other options for short or extended subscriptions:

  • 1 week: 39 EUR.

  • 6 months: 89 EUR per month (must pay 499 EUR for the first 6 months).

  • 12 months: 69 EUR per month (must pay 799 EUR for the first 12 months).

Payments can be done by Skrill, Credit card or Neteller.

Next improvements

RebelBetting has worked on an in-play alert service. They already have a working prototype and they are evaluating releasing a beta depending on users demand.

RebelBetting is working on improving odds scanning. Next major release will reduce scanning interval to 10-20 seconds.

BetOnValue.com is an online service providing surebet alerts among other betting related services, including odds comparison (live and prematch) and odds history. BetOnValue.com belongs BetBrain Ltd and was launched in May 2000 in Denmark as a spin off from a Danish web technology company. Their website was redesigned in November 2012 and offers fast and very detailed information about odds, surebets, and valuebets.

Main features

BetOnValue displays odds, surebets and valuebets, for live and future events. BetOnValue collects odds from more than 170 bookmakers and exchanges. The service brings an amazing number of sports and markets in an easily navigable design. There are 65 sports, and markets, depending on the sport, can be more than 100 (for example, considering football, the most complete of all).

VOB sports

They also cover a high number of cross-market surebets. Regarding periods, they cover full-time (with and without overtime), 1st and 2nd half, 1st to 5th set, 1st to 4th quarter, different innings and many other options depending on the sport.

Odds are collected from different sources, depending on what the provider offers. If they give more options, BetOnValue takes the fastest/most reliable one. They only take odds through third parties when they have no alternative, for a couple of Asian bookmakers, otherwise they collect them directly.

The refresh rate depends on the bookmaker. For upcoming events requests are made every 60 seconds on average. Normally, the providers listed under Standard Bookmakers and Exchanges are the most reliable, as BetOnValue has direct communication with them and they provide with their best solutions. For all In-running events, the refresh rate is much closer to real time, with delays of 1-2 seconds on average, with an imposed maximum of 5-8 seconds

Special features

Whether you are on the odds, surebets, or valuebets window, BetOnValue can drive you to the bookmaker web site and select the event and market to place the bet, just by clicking on the desired odds. Depending on the bookmaker you will have the bet slip already filled or you will have to do it by yourself.

Besides arbitrage detection, BetOnValue also offers odd comparison and odd history. Users can see the history of every odd, since first detected at BetOnValue in a graph showing odds evolution. When showing odds evolution for a specific event, users can chose the market, period, parameter (spread in AH or goals in OU), the bookmaker (or maximum or average) and the outcomes to display (such as over, under or both). They can also adjust the time range to include in the graph.

VOB odds History

Users can also compare odds from different bookmakers, by clicking on the event and selecting the market of choice.

VOB odds comparison

BetOnValue offers an accounting application (BetOnValue Accounting) to record bets and other transactions across your bookmaker and wallet accounts. You can record each bet from BetOnValue.com odds tables and manage other transactions such as deposits or withdrawals. Each bet can include information about sports, leagues and betting types and the application includes some basic accounting and betting reports.

Filters

The arbitrage window has a filter section on the left where users can determine the conditions to select arbitrage opportunities.

VOB Filters

Users can specify the minimum and maximum arb percentage. The minimum allowed arbitrage can be chosen from the following: 0%, 0.2%, 0.5%, 1%, 1.5%, 2%, 3%, 4% and 5%. No negative arbitrage can be chosen. The maximum allowed arbitrage can be chosen from: 0.2%, 0.5%, 1%, 2%, 3%, 4%, 5%, 6%, 7%, 8%, 9% and all. These limits allow to prevent palp errors.

BetOnValue can consider all available events or just the ones that will be played in 2 hours, 12 hours, 1, 2, 7, 30 or 90 days. As arbers we don’t want to keep our money stuck on a bet for a long time so we could chose to display only events for the next 2 days.

Another filter enables users to choose to show only non-live events, only live events or both.

The filter section also allows users to choose bookmakers, sports and markets. Only bookmakers that have previously been selected in the user preferences are available to choose, and users can also set minimum and maximum odds for each of the selected bookmakers. After choosing sports, users can select from the list of available markets for these specific sports. The number of markets is so big that selection is not easy. In fact, full market names are not displayed and you need to hover over the name to see the full description.

VOB markets

In the arbitrage window, users can dismiss the information they no longer want to see by filtering the unwanted odds. They can filter all odds values for a particular bookmaker, event, market and outcome, or a specific value for these odds (if odds change they will be show again). Dismissed information can be shown again by removing the applied filters.

They don’t have filters for same bookie, but this feature is in their To Do list.

Customisation

Users can set personal information (name, last name and country), change email and password, choose preferences and select bookmakers.

Preferences include: remember me, sound alerts for live matches, sound alerts for surebets, newsletters, valuemail, currency, timezone and odds format (UK, US, EU, IN, MA, HK).

Users can customise bookmakers to be used. Bookmakers are optional (you cannot choose mandatory bookmakers to be considered on all arbs). The bookmakers you select are saved in your profile and can be later used in the filter section in the surebet window. For each bookmaker you can specify the currency and some of them (exchanges on a few other) allow commissions (currencies and commissions will be used in the calculator). Bookmakers are categorized as standard (38 books and 4 exchanges), and extra (144 books and 1 exchange). The number of books and exchanges and their category can change over time.

Calculator

Every surebet can be calculated on the built in calculator. Users must specify the total stake or the stake for one of the bet legs (outcomes) and BetOnValue will calculate other stakes, the arbitrage percentage, return on each bet and profit (or loss). The calculator allows users to change the odds (by selecting another bookmaker or just writing a new value), and also supports different currencies and commissions.

The calculator performs automatic rounding that cannot be disabled.

Support

Customer support can be contacted by email and they provide a very quick response. Although there is no user manual, they have a Help area with information about how to use the site.

Subscriptions plans

BetOnValue offers 3 subscription plans:

  • Advanced subscription: it has 20 minutes surebet delay and does not include exchanges. Bookmakers available are all standard bookmakers and 10 extra bookmakers. Its price is EU 10 per month

  • Expert subscription: it has 3 minutes surebet delay. All bookmakers are available. Its price is EU 50 per month

  • SureBet Pro subscription: it has no surebet delay. All bookmakers are available. Its price is EU 150 per month

There is no free option at BetOnValue.com, but if you wanna try for free, you can use BetBrain.com (from the same company). BetBrain.com offers real time odds for free. Surebets and valuebets are also shown for free, with 20 minutes delay. At BetBrain you can only find samples of the full service that can be found on BetOnValue. Besides the 20 minutes delay, you don’t have any filters, and results are generated randomly (only 10 surebets or valuebets are displayed).

All plans include odds history and odds comparison and allow users to use the Accounting Application.

Payments can be done by Visa and Mastercard, Skrill and Neteller.

Next improvements

Currently BetOnValue does not have any kind of warnings for dangerous surebets, but they do their best to group only providers/bet types with the same rules, thus minimizing any possible losses. In terms of possible mistakes, they do have an automatic reporting system that alerts them of any possible mistakes in terms of odds compatibility. In addition, they monitor the page themselves for mistakes. However, they have considered such feature – Warnings – and hopefully they’ll be able to implement it in the near future.

At the moment they only offer alerts for new surebets that arrive on the page but they will consider adding more alerts by different criteria.

Supported bookmakers (as of August 10, 2014)

The list is huge. Besides 5 exchanges (Betfair, Betdaq, Matchbook, Smarkets and Betcruise), they offer more than 170 bookmakers. We preferred to show them in a picture.

BetLinker Review 2014/2015

$
0
0

BetLinker is a Windows application to detect and deliver sports betting arbitrage opportunities. It was developed by Russian developer Evgeniy Krasnov in 2011 and was available only in Russian until last August when the English version launched.

Main features

BetLinker collects odds and displays arbitrage opportunities from more than 100 bookmakers.

BetLinker only focuses on pre-match arbing – they are working on live arbitrage but currently it’s only a free service up to 1%. They cover at least 28 sports and many markets (including cross markets) to detect more than 4000 different combinations of 2, 3 and 4 outcomes surebets.

The refresh rate is on average between 10 and 40 seconds, but users can pause the update by pressing a button in the lower left corner of the program window. Some bookmakers have faster refresh rate, such as Pinnacle (7 seconds).

Special features

One of the most remarkable functions about BetLinker is its built-in browser and automatic login. The application will automatically log you in to the bookmaker, find the correct sport, league and market, and fill the bet slip if possible. This requires telling BetLinker you username and password on all bookmakers, something not everybody will be comfortable with.

The arbitrage window shows all arbs available based on current user settings and filters. Each arbitrage is shown in a row including the event and league, markets, arb percentage, time until the event starts, the arb age and bookmakers involved. Columns shown can be customised. You can also switch to a detailed view, where all arbs are shown on more than one row, with each leg detail.

BetLinker offers an odds comparison service. Users can click on a bookmaker name (in the built-in browser or calculator). A small window will show and let you select other appropriate odds for this outcome. After selecting any odds, automatic authorization and browsing to it will start immediately.

Another way to compare odds is to call All Odds window by pressing F5 in main window, or appropriate button in built-in browser and external calculator. This time a larger window will show up, displaying many markets and a direct link to event for each bookmaker (if supported). The service allows you to specify bookmakers, as well as to track changes in odds, or outcomes (you specify the odds and the desired value and BetLinker will track these odds until they reach this value). And when you need to compare odds for a specific event, you can use “Find events” function, by entering team names in the search field.

Odds Comparison

BetLinker accounting can help you keep a record of your bets. By pressing the “Add to accounting” button, you can record the selected surebet. You must previously create all necessary bookmaker accounts. BetLinker accounting provides information about profit for day, week, or month, and some statistics of your accounts.

Accounting manages money transactions (deposits, withdrawals, transfers) and betting transactions (bet, surebet and bonus).

Built in browser

By pressing the “Make bet” button, the built in browser will automatically open, log into your account on bookmakers websites and go to the event. If in the process of surfing any odd has changed, the browser immediately informs you about it and offers to recalculate stakes in the built-in calculator.

The Built in Browser splits the screen depending on the number of legs of the arbitrage.

Filters

BetLinker manages filters using the following criteria:

  • sports
  • bookmakers (optional and mandatory bookmakers)
  • countries and leagues
  • profit
  • remaining time (from and to)
  • surebet lifetime (from and to)
  • maximum bet amount on exchanges
  • number of outcomes (2, 3 or 4)
  • surebets and middles
  • back and lay on exchanges
  • second and third leagues
  • multiple outcomes from one bookmaker
  • odds (from and to)
  • different rules

Filters

Users can create up to 10 filters (only in Ultra plan) and up to two in Pro plan.
There is an instant alert for all users. If user enables checkbox “Notify in program”, all new and changed surebets falling into the filter will arise with a small window in the corner. When you click on the alert window, the main window will automatically open and the surebet will be selected.

Customisation

BetLinker allows lots of customisation. Users can customise the information to be displayed for each surebet and highlighting criteria. There are other display settings and sound settings, information to be shown on the calculator, the position of the notification window, and many other. The customisation window includes 11 tabs – connection, surebets table, bookmakers, interface, sounds, notify, calculator, browsing, accounting, odds and hot-keys – and around 100 items in total.

Settings

For each bookmaker, BetLinker allows users to set information such as username and password, web address, currency and other.

BL_book_settings

Calculator

There are four calculators:

  • built in calculator in the main window
  • external calculator
  • external calculator with manual selection of arb
  • built in calculator in the browser

Built in calculator in the main window and external calculator allow to calculate the arbitrage for the match selected. It is possible to change the total sum, rounding, each bet stake, currency, exchange rate, odds, and overweight or fix any sum.

Calculator

The calculator has a “Surebet changed” indicator. Calculator constantly monitors odds and informs users of any change. If after change surebet is still profitable, calculator icon turns yellow, while it turns red on negative arbs.

By clicking on the words “Surebet changed” odds are updated with current odds.

By clicking on the name of the bookmaker, the list of odds from other bookmakers on same outcome will be shown (odds comparison feature).

On the external calculator with manual selection of arb, users can choose any of more than a thousand possible arbitrage situations (of course, a lot of combinations are the same, just changing the number of goals or points).

Support

Customer support can be contacted by email and they provide a very quick response. BetLinker participates in Arbusers forum where they post information and answer users questions. In this forum they have a specific board with 6 threads at the time of our review.

There is also a help page available online with a short description of most functions, and a faqs page and a list of all used abbreviations.

There is also good help information within the software.

Subscriptions plans

BetLinker has 3 subscription plans.

  • Free plan: provides surebets and middles from 0% to 1%, built-in browser, accounting module and notifications
  • Pro plan: It adds surebets and middles above 1%, negative surebets and middles and odds comparison. Its cost is 100 EUR per month.
  • Ultra plan. It adds extended filters. Its cost is 120 EUR per month.

A fourth plan which will provide live arbs and middles is coming soon.

Payments can be done by Skrill. 10% discount is available for 3 months subscriptions.

BetBurger.com is an online service providing surebet alerts for prematch and live events as well as odds comparison. BetBurger is one of the newest alert services. It launched in March 2014 and was free for a month before becoming a paid service.

Main features

BetBurger displays surebets and middles, for live a future events. BetBurger collects odds from 56 bookmakers and exchanges (but considering clone bookies it covers more than 100). The service brings arbs for an important number of sports and markets in a modern and clean design. There are more than 20 sports, and markets include 1X2, money line, handicaps, totals and other.

They cover a high number of cross-market surebets, including many 3 leg arbs. Regarding periods, they cover fulltime (with and without overtime), halves on football, sets on tennis and volleyball, quarters on basketball, periods on hockey, different innings on baseball and other options depending on the sport.

Future and live surebets are show on different screens.

Special features

The arbitrage window displays each arb on a coloured border rectangle with all relevant information clearly organised inside. A green frame denotes a new arb and a red one tells the match is near to start. Orange means different rules and blue is used on live matches to indicate the interval. A yellow background is used on middles.

Each arb shows the sport, date, arb percentage a ROI, league and teams, period, markets outcomes and odds. Next to each odd you can see an arrow up or down only after a recent change. By clicking on the arb percentage, the surebet calculator pops up.

Arbitrage example

BetBurger can drive you to the bookmaker web site and select the event and market to place the bet, just by clicking on the desired odds. Depending on the bookmaker you will have the bet slip already filled or you will have to do it by yourself.

Besides arbitrage detection, BetBurger also offers odds comparison. By clicking on a specific outcome in the arbitrage window you will be taken to the odds comparison page for this event and market. In this page you can see the odds for each market (and all spreads or totals) and select any other market available.

BetBurger offers an accounting application to record bets and other transactions across your bookmaker and wallet accounts. You can record each bet from BetBurger’s calculator and manage other transactions such as deposits or withdrawals. The accounting application is only available to paid users and is no longer available after your subscription ended (not even read-only).

Filters

The arbitrage window has a filter section on the left where users can determine the conditions to select arbitrage opportunities. A set of checkboxes allows to enable or disable some features like automatic odds updates, sound and popup alerts, grouping surebets by events, filtering arbs with different rules or same bookmaker and showing 2 and/or 3 legs arbitrages.

Users can also specify the minimum and maximum values for many arbitrage items including arb percentage, middle percentage, odds, arbitrage age and ROI.

BetBurger can consider all available events or just the ones that will be played in the next minutes, hours or days.

Finally, users can chose which bookmakers to include and which sports and markets to be considered.

All these conditions can be grouped under a custom filter and saved with a name. You can define several filters and apply one of them at any time.

BetBurger also allows users to apply multifilters (more than one filter at a time).

Quick filters

In the arbitrage window, users can dismiss the information they no longer want to see by filtering the unwanted odds, arbitrage or events. Users can click a cross next to each odd to dismiss this specific odd. This is useful if for some reason this odd is incorrect and keeps showing inexistent arbs, or when you already placed a bet on this odd and cannot place the same bet again because of bookmaker’s limits. Users can also dismiss the whole arbitrage and even all arbitrages from an event (by dismissing the event).

Customisation

Users can set their email and password, define bookmakers to be used (and set their currency, rounding method and commission), define exchange rates, and custom filters.

Calculator

Every surebet can be calculated on the built in calculator. Users must specify the total stake or the stake for one of the bet legs (outcomes) and the calculator will calculate other stakes, the arbitrage percentage and profit (or loss) on each leg. Just be sure to click the radio button on the leg you want to set fixed, or the calculator will use the total stake

The calculator allows users to change the odds, and supports commissions and rounding (including different rounding on each leg). Users can also maximize profit for one specific outcome or calculate a balanced arbitrage.

Support

Customer support can be contacted by email and they provide a very quick response. Although there is no user manual, they have a Help area with information about how to use the site. BetBurger participates in Arbusers forum where they post information and answer users questions. In this forum they have a specific board with 5 threads at the time of our review.

In case users find a wrong arbitrage, they can notify BetBurger with the horn icon under the arb percentage. This action will dismiss the arbitrage (for the user that pressed the horn) and warn other users who see the same arb. After pressing the horn you must indicate the type of error, to help BetBurger support on how to correct it.

Subscriptions plans

BetBurger offers 3 subscription plans.

  • Prematch: Its price is EU 80 per month
  • Live. Its price is EU 150 per month

Main features

Betsonfire displays surebets for live and future events. Betsonfire collects odds from more than 70 bookmakers and exchanges. The service brings arbs for football, basketball, tennis, ice hockey and volleyball. They cover almost all markets available and a few cross market arbs, but they plan to increase the number of cross markets.

Arbvestor Review – 2014/2015

Arbvestor.com is the latest online surebet alert service. With just over two months from launch, Arbvestor provides surebet alerts for pre-match events. They are still under development, and have plans to increase functionality in the short term.

Main features

Arbvestor displays surebets for future events, collecting odds from 24 bookmakers and exchanges. The service brings arbs for football, basketball and ice hockey and several markets in a clean design. Markets include 1X2, money line, handicaps, totals and some cross markets arbs.

Regarding periods, they cover fulltime (with and without overtime), halves on football, quarters on basketball, and periods on hockey.

The service still needs work to be a strong contender to other alert services. Currently the list of sports, markets and filters available are not what experienced arbers may need.

Special features

After you log in, you see the main view with a list of surebets, sorted by percentage. This list can also be sorted by kick off time. The arbitrage list displays each arb on a row with almost all relevant information clearly organised inside. Each arb shows the sport, arb percentage, league and teams, time until kick off, and legs (market outcomes and bookmakers involved). Next to the arb percentage you can see an arrow up or down only after a recent change.

Arbvestor arbs

By clicking on the arb, the detailed arbitrage view is displayed. This detailed view includes bookmakers, markets, outcomes and odds involved on each leg, and also offers a list of other options (other bookmakers with lower odds that could also create arbitrage opportunities). On the detailed arb view you can go back to the arb list or you can open the arbitrage calculator and navigate to each bookmaker – if the Betfinder extension is installed.

Betfinder not only navigates to the bets of an arb, it also logs you into the bookie’s website. For that to work, you need to put the credentials for each bookie that you have an account with into the preferences. After clicking the “Go” button the Betfinder open new tabs on the web browser and find bets on each bookmaker. After setting the stakes to bet, just hit the “set amount” button and the values will be transferred to the bookie page betslip.

Arbvestor offers a basic bookkeeper application to record your bets and other transactions across your bookmaker accounts. You can record each bet from Arbvestor’s calculator.

Filters

Arbvestor provides a left vertical pane with its main options, which include filters. The filter section allows users to set some conditions to select arbitrage opportunities. These conditions include:

    • the arbitrage minimum and maximum percentage (from -0.1 to 14.9 or unlimited)
    • the minimum and maximum kick off time (from now to 2 months or unlimited)
    • the sport (right now only one sport or all sports can be selected)
    • the bookies (right now only one bookie or all bookies can be selected)

There is also a checkbox where you can choose to display only arbs within your bookies, as set on your preferences.

Customisation

Users can set general settings, including:

    • share settings between computers and devices
    • toggle arb notifications
    • arb percentage threshold
    • main currency
    • time zone

Finally, users can set their bookmaker accounts from the list of bookies managed by Arbvestor. For each bookie, users can set the username and password (to enable autologin), the commission type and percentage, a custom URL and the currency. Currencies can be selected from a list which only displays each bookmaker’s allowed currencies; however it seems some currencies are missing (such as USD for bwin or bet365)

Calculator

Every surebet can be calculated on the built in calculator. Users must specify the total stake or the stake for one of the bet legs (outcomes) and the calculator will calculate other stakes, the arbitrage percentage, return on each bet and profit (or loss).
The calculator does not allow users to change the odds. It supports commissions (as set on your preferences) and rounding (but rounding is managed by Arbvestor and cannot be configured).
